Reminder: PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY COURSE
A one hour course in Professional Responsibility or ethics is required to renew. This hour is included in the 16 hour requirement. Please see information on website, including information on the providers of the course. An Internet or CD Professional Responsibility Course is counted as an internet hour, and therefore is included in the maximum of 8 hours of Internet CE allowed.
CE REQUIREMENT SUMMARY (Active Licensees)
- 16 hours of continuing education required each year
- 12 or more hours must be diagnosis or treatment of ocular disease (DT Hours)
- 8 or more hours must be live hours
- 4 hours maximum of "grand rounds" at .5 credit per hour
- 1 hour must be professional responsibility or ethics
- Certificate of course completion may be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to Board
- All courses must be approved by the Board
- Active Licensees who have not obtained CE cannot renew
